Ed Downs, a fifth degree black belt and U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee, has been a certified trainer for more than 20 years and the creator of PROTERF training.
In 2011, Downs opened TERF Athletic Facility in Miami, Florida, specializing in designing PROTERF sports fitness programs for professional, recreational and young, aspiring athletes to help them maximize their performance and decrease their risk of injury.
With a bachelor's degree in mathematical science, a background in computer science and extensive study in human body mechanics, Downs has developed and patented core training devices, as well as programs that have been incorporated into the training regimens of professional athletes.
Downs was previously hired by the Miami Heat as a flexibility specialist and by New Orleans Hornets as a core and flexibility specialist. He's appeared on MTV's "The Life" with former NBA All-Star Baron Davis, "Deco Drive" with NBA legend Penny Hardaway, "QVC" with his patented balance device called "Downs Disc", "Livin La Vida with Stella & Stuart" and other national shows.
Downs' mission is to use his knowledge and experience to share with everyone what it takes to become a professional athlete, and how to cultivate the healthy lifestyle necessary to maintain that high level of performance. His goal is to give all athletes, male and female, young and older, an inside look into what pros are doing to improve their skills throughout their career, so they can do the same.

Jesus Gallo, the Co-Owner at EAP, has been a certified trainer for more than 15 years, working with some of the top athletes and in Baseball,Tennis, MMA, and Judo. In 1999-2004, Gallo was ranked Top 3 in the U.S. in Judo. During this time he learned firsthand the type of hard work, dedication, and
perseverance that it takes to make it as a top athlete.
Combining his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology with his experience as a top tier athlete, Gallo now incorporates his knowledge and expertise into all of his training programs for young athletes as well as professionals. He enjoys helping young athletes achieve their dreams of becoming high school and college athletes.
Gallo has had the pleasure of working with some of the MLB’s top athletes, such as Jorge Soler, Placido Polanco, Edgar Renteria, Ramirez, Raul Ibanez, and Jose Iglesias, as well as many more. His love of Judo has brought him to train Judo Olympians Nick Delpopolo and Angelica Delgado, both ranked Top 15 in the world.
Just to name some of the other pro athletes Gallo has worked with include WTA stars Monica Puig and Gio Lapente as well as MMA stars Jorge Masvidal and Alexis Villa.
